​We are a citizens' group that works for transparency and accountability in government, and to protect water, the environment and health.

AWARE Simcoe is an umbella group formed
after the Dump Site 41 Victory, which has united residents across Simcoe County, including Barrie and Orillia, to protect our land and water, to halt sprawl and to control waste.

Thanks to the generosity of the Friends of Utopia and Bells' Gristmill, AWARE Essa holds our meetings at the Utopia Hall. On Saturday mornings the Happy Hens are there with coffee and toast and eggs and always a warm welcome.
The Utopia Hall is the setting for all kinds of community events in Essa.
